Rigas are currently establishing a bay area base of operations for VWP. And we're moving into pre-production on a feature to be shot in Northern California winter of 2007. Details forthcoming. THE OKLAHOMA PROJECTS I was in Oklahoma from March 28, to July 11th, '07, scouting, talking with qualified investors, and meeting with local filmmakers. Numerous key people have been truly supportive of the features we will be shooting here over the next two to three years. Jason Jury wrote and will direct Blood Loss; this script of a story conceived with Richard Botchlet and Eric King - friends from OU, and we're hoping to give back to community there and in Norman. The amazingly talented Patricia Van Over has come on board as Director of Photography. Patrick McIntire is our fabulous Line Producer - all hard at work and with everything shaping up rapidly! A number of cast and crew positions have been filled. Blood Loss is a feature length comedy/thriller to be shot in the spring of 2008. This will be a fun one with the help of Oklahoma filmmakers. More about the other two features will be revealed once we secure all the funding! This just in: May 24th, 2007. A very important bill (SB623) has passed the Senate and House! The impact on filmmakers with projects similar to ours is enormous. Congratulations to Jill Simpson,Director of the Oklahoma Film and Music Office, and to the many people whose diligent efforts contributed to this success! Top Secret Animated Feature Hot off the desk of novelist and screenwriter Gary Clemenceau, this hysterical romp will delight adults and children alike. Initial contact is being made with those in the know. Stay tuned.... THE JAMES GANG CJ Cronin's delightful book for kids is getting an early look in Australia and the US. CJ has made incredible progress with some important international contacts, and was just in Ireland to move things forward. We are working with Marcus Burrows in New York toward developing several books with simultaneous film and games releases. Keep your eye on this one, it could be the next "HARRY POTTER" and the next high tech phase in book\games\film product amalgamation. Randy Luethye, Treva Etienne and I have agreed to work together toward the production of this screenplay to which we 3 contributed, built upon Randy's original story and script. WRAPPEDKHANUM KHANUMA TEA I produced this commercial for Gates Worldwide, Inc. Directed by Maryam Milani, from Tapesh TV. Director of Photography: Daniel Karp. Jason Jury: UPM/AD and my all around right arm. We had a magical day of shooting at Elysian Park in LA with Nikki Christie behind the wheel of the '34 Roadster, and Lon Haber as the Motorcycle Officer who pulls her over only to discover a carload of tea! Very talented, easy-going crew and impressive cast, starring Jarret Worley whose handsome face you may have seen in Coca-Cola ads, and beautiful (inside and out) Julia, who landed a recurring role on the hot new TV program Studio 60 right after we wrapped. Shot on 4 locations in and around LA, this short is now in post-production. Watch for it at AFM! JAPAN Thriller starring Shane Brolly and Peter Fonda. Check out the info on IMDB about JAPAN. The feature was directed by Fabien Pruvot, shot by Ryan Nguyen, produced by Bianca Chiminello. Due for release in 2007. I was Continuity/Script Supervisor on this project shot in the very intense heat of Arizona. Wonderful cast and crew! OTHERAMTRAK TRIP Someday, I hope to post the images, details on the cross country Amtrak journey I took summer of '06, including the derailing in Beaumont, Texas. I made some nice new friends and learned a lot. I arrived at my final destination August 2nd, after a bit of an ordeal in New Orleans. Meanwhile you can read my blog. |
